November 2012: Hi All, it has been a very long time since I have had this site tended to! Since my last gigs in 2011 I have been quite busy in other aspects of my life. Harry was born in May 2012, 14 days late and have been trying to catch up ever since!
Anyway, back in 2011 I put forward a couple of songs for review by Joan Armatrading, who has been on the search for UK talent to perform short support slots on her tour. I didn't think anything would come of it, but being a bit of a fan, I figured it was worth a bash. Life went on, I did a few support slots for Fish and found out a few weeks later that my partner and I had managed to fall pregnant! We hadn't been trying very long so it came as a bit of a surprise!
I grew and grew, and while nausea in early pregnancy reduced my desire to play live, the size of my bump prevented me from playing later on - I got rather large! And then I got an email, I'd been offered a chance to choose a venue to support Joan Armatrading and Chris Wood! I had to choose Oxford, not only because it is a pretty amazing place, but also because it was far enough away in time for me to be able to get used to being a mummy and perhaps reduce the bump to something I could fit a guitar over!
So while it's been very quiet on here, we've been selling a flat, buying a house, trading the sporty car for a family estate, and trying very hard to be the best parents we can be. It's been pretty gruelling, I honestly have never been more tired. I rarely get more than 3 hours sleep at a time and that has taken some getting used to! No more rocknroll nights out or lie-ins.
It has been amazing of course, and I feel very lucky.
So, sorry again for the lack of updates - hope you understand! In the meantime here's a picture of us :0)

Fingers crossed for Oxford!
Jo

February 2010: "Overtaking on a Bend" is now available! The album launch party will be held on the 12th of March 2010 at the Tunnels in Aberdeen. Tickets are £5 on the door.
Jo has also put 6 tracks (of 22) from "Overtaking On A Bend" on MySpace for you to hear. These are "Won't Let You Down", "Page 94", "Jack", "Becoming Myself Again", "Tears 1995" and "Faster In The Dark".

April 2009: Jo is now writing the 'Overtaking on a Bend' blog - a diary of the album. This contains the developing lyrics, cover art and other interesting stuff!

February 2008: Jo now has a forum! Come and join us for a natter...

April 2007: Jo is setting up a 'Charlotte Says' MySpace profile, which is one of her old bands. She'll be uploading some lovely loud tracks but for now you can have a right old giggle at a couple of very BAD pictures of her...

October 2006: Jo has a small run of 'Games for One', 'Nothing Whispered to Katy' and 'The 8 Year Gap' available at £5 each, please email Jo for payment details.
Also the whole set of 6 CDs is available for £35 inc p & p.

October 2006: You can download 'Papercuts and Lime' at the following digital outlets: Apple.com, Emusic.com.

April 2006: There's a live track (MP3 format) by Jo's band available.

April 2006: One of Jo's tracks - Cave - is featured in a PodCast. There's also an RSS feed available.

February 2006: There is a review of Papercuts
and Lime on Unevendays, and a review of Jo
at the Moorings on the 16th November 2005 at last.fm.

September 2005: Jo now has a page at CDbaby

August 2005: For the next month, all profits from CDs bought
from this site go straight to the Disasters Emergency Commitee. Niger needs your help...

June 2005: The debut of the Jo McCafferty Band will be on the
22nd August at Moshulu supporting the Dresden Dolls.
More details are on the gigs page.
The Jo McCafferty Band will consist of a variety of players including:
Jo - Guitar and vocals
Rachie - Cello (Deadloss Superstar)
Ritchie - Keys (Baby Karma)
Phillip - Flute and possibly sax (Sundaran Music)
This is a one off gig and will be an amazing chance to hear the songs in a completely different style and an interesting environment. It also looks likely that Jo will be making an instore appearance at One Up (17 Belmont St. Aberdeen, tel: 01224 642662) on the Friday before the Dresden Dolls show.

June 2005: The extra tracks on the 'Moorings' CD are mastered versions of the 'Games for One' CD (minus 'Vanessa'). The other tracks on 'Games for One' are from the other albums. So, apart from the produced version of 'Vanessa', 'Games for One' will no longer be pressed.
There are some plans to press 'NWTK' and '8 Year Gap' on one CD in the future but Jo is currently working on the full band album, so it is taking a back seat for now.

June 2005: Jo's next album, provisionally titled "Overtaking on a Bend" is going to be at least 14 brand new songs and 2 or 3 of the ones from previous albums.

May 2005: The 'Live at the Moorings' CD has now been added to the Shop.
